Assessment services
Ergonomic Assessment
An assessor observes the person at their workstation, measures reaches, postures, and repetition, and recommends changes to the setup, the schedule, or both. Employers order one when discomfort or restrictions persist after the equipment was already adjusted once.
The problem
The chair was replaced and the pain stayed
The employer bought the recommended equipment and the restrictions did not move. Nobody measured the task itself: the reach the layout forces, the repetition the schedule demands, or the posture the monitor height holds all day. Each new referral re-describes the same workstation from memory.
- Equipment is swapped without measuring the task it serves.
- Recommendations arrive as clinical language no supervisor can roster.
- The same workstation is re-assessed from memory on every new referral.
What changes
What IMECore does about it
The workstation measured, not eyeballed
Reaches, heights, forces, and durations are recorded at the desk through real task cycles. The report states what the station asks of the body, in numbers the next assessment can use.
Changes a supervisor can roster
Setup adjustments and scheduling changes arrive as concrete assignments with review dates. The supervisor gets duties to roster, not postures to interpret.
Capacity and demands meet at the desk
Measured capacity from the person's evaluation and demands from the job analysis resolve into what this person does at this station, task by task.

FAQ
Questions people ask
What is an ergonomic assessment?
A structured look at how a workstation treats the body: reaches, postures, repetition, force, and environment, measured during real work and answered with setup and scheduling changes.
Does someone visit the workplace?
Yes. Observation at the workstation is what makes the numbers trustworthy. When a visit is not possible, the analysis says so and states what it relied on instead.
Can it run by video?
No. The assessment needs hands-on measurement at the workstation: reaches, forces, and postures cannot be taken reliably over a call.
What does the employer receive?
A demands record for the station as observed, setup and schedule changes with review dates, and a match against the person's measured capacity where one exists on file.

Employers
We arrange fitness-to-work and return-to-work assessments, Functional Capacity Evaluations (Functional Abilities Evaluation or FAE in Ontario), Physical Demands Analyses, and Job Site Assessments. You receive capability and restriction against the duties you named, and the employee is told what the appointment is, who ordered it, and who sees the report.

We coordinate the examination and deliver a report in the board's language: work-relatedness, restrictions, and the rating the claim file needs.

Functional Capacity Evaluation
A clinician works through a standardized set of physical tasks — lifting, carrying, sitting, standing, reaching — and reports what the person can do against the demands of their job. In Ontario the same assessment is called a Functional Abilities Evaluation (FAE). Employers and insurers order it for return-to-work and disability decisions.

Physical Demands Analysis
A documented breakdown of what a job physically requires: lifting, carrying, postures, repetition, and environment, measured at the actual workstation. Employers order one before a capacity evaluation, during accommodation, or when the written job description no longer matches the work.
