There is no assessment centre and no room rented by the hour. An examiner in the specialty your questions need sees the examinee in the practice they work in every day, and signs the report that answers them.

One case carries the file from the first referral to the paid invoice. A named person approves each step before the file moves.
- Referral: you send the claim details, the questions, and the report date.
- Records: we collect the treating records and name what is still missing.

- Exam: the examinee attends in person or by video, with consent recorded.

What does IMECore do?
IMECore arranges and delivers Independent Medical Examinations, Functional Capacity Evaluations, Medical File Reviews, and related assessments for insurers, law firms, and employers across Canada. Examiners see patients from their own practices. One auditable case carries the referral, the records, the booking, the report, and the invoice, and a named person approves each step.
How do we refer a case?
Send the claim details, the assessment questions, and the date the report is due. A coordinator confirms the referral, collects the treating records, matches an examiner to the questions, and books the examination.
Which assessments can we request?
Independent Medical Examinations, Functional Capacity Evaluations (called Functional Abilities Evaluations in Ontario), Medical File Reviews, psychological, neuropsychological, and psycho-vocational assessments, Future Care Cost Assessments, and virtual assessments where the examination allows it.
Where do examinations happen?
At the examiner's own practice, or by video where the assessment type allows it. The booking confirms the place and time before the examinee attends.
What does an assessment cost?
Each assessment is quoted per case, based on the assessment type and the records involved. Tell us the referral volume and we send a figure.
How much does the AI decide?
Nothing that reaches you. AI extracts referral fields, sorts records, and drafts chronologies. Every booking, every report, and every release is approved and signed by a person.
How long does an IME take today?
In British Columbia, booking a specialist takes two to six months and the report takes a further four to eight weeks. The examination itself takes 30 minutes to two hours. Almost all the elapsed time is records handling, scheduling, and report administration.
