Personal injury law firms in British Columbia
Plaintiff and defence firms across BC that run ICBC, WCAT, and disability files. Verify counsel in the Law Society of BC directory, then order the assessment against the file.
The problem
ICBC files move fast and counsel changes
Enhanced Care changed how BC auto claims run, but med-legal reports still decide the disputes that remain. WCAT appeals add their own deadlines and their own record. You need the right firm, the right regime, and the report on time.
- The referral says ICBC but not whether it is Enhanced Care or a litigated file.
- A WCAT appeal deadline arrives with the record half collected.
- Counsel moves firms and the delivery address goes stale.
What changes
What IMECore does about it
Start from the LSBC directory
The Law Society of BC directory lists every practising lawyer in the province. Confirm standing there, then keep the lawyer and the firm on the case.
Set the regime before you book
ICBC, WCAT, or LTD. The regime sets the questions, the report headings, and the tax. IMECore carries it from the referral to the invoice.
Meet the appeal clock
WCAT deadlines do not move. The case shows the report date against the appeal date, and warns when the slack runs out.

FAQ
Questions people ask
Where do I verify a BC lawyer?
In the Law Society of BC lawyer directory. Search by name to confirm the lawyer holds a practising certificate. Record the check date on the case.
What changed with ICBC Enhanced Care?
Most BC auto claims now run through Enhanced Care benefits instead of lawsuits. Med-legal reports still matter for the disputes that remain, including income replacement and care disputes. Name the claim stream on the referral so the report answers the right questions.
How do WCAT appeal assessments work?
The appeal record sets the questions, and the report must land before the appeal deadline. IMECore tracks the appeal date against the report date on one case. Ask for a rush when the deadline is inside six weeks.
Which BC cities do you serve?
Vancouver, Surrey, Victoria, Kelowna, and the rest of the province, plus video assessments where the regime allows. See the British Columbia locations page for coverage detail. Travel and interpreter needs go on the referral.

Independent Medical Examination
An independent physician examines the person, reviews the records, and answers the referral's questions in a signed report. Insurers, employers, and law firms order one when the treatment notes alone cannot settle diagnosis, causation, or work capacity.
