## How to order an assessment from IMECore

Send the referral and the questions to answer. A named coordinator owns the file from there to the invoice.

1. **Send the referral.** Send the referral with the examinee details, the incident date, the questions to answer, and the records you hold.
2. **We confirm the match.** The coordinator matches the questions to a specialty, screens for conflict of interest, and confirms the records the examiner needs.
3. **We run the file.** Booking, examiner brief, appointment, report review against every referral question, then delivery and invoice.

## What is a Functional Capacity Evaluation

A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE, called a Functional Abilities Evaluation or FAE in Ontario) measures what the body can do against the demands of a job: lifting, carrying, sitting, standing, reaching, and endurance, tested directly and reported as numbers. Employers and insurers order it for return-to-work and disability decisions. It always runs in person.
