## How to use it

1. **Set the injury date and the report date.** That span is the period the examiner has to speak to.
2. **List each expected source.** One line as source, from date, to date. Leave the dates blank if you hold nothing.
3. **Read the gaps.** Missing entirely, starts after the injury, or ends before the report.
4. **Copy the request letters.** Each gap gets a starter you can send to the source or to the referrer.

## The missing year is usually a missing clinic

Examiners do not fail files because a page is out of order. They fail them because the family-physician chart stops two years before the accident, or because physiotherapy never arrived. You find out when the report says the records are incomplete. By then the appointment is used. Listing what you hold, with dates, is the cheapest way to see the hole while you can still request it.

## Coverage is the union of dates, not the sum of PDFs

Two clinics that overlap in the same month do not double the coverage. A source that starts after the injury leaves a gap at the front. A source that ends before the report leaves a gap at the back. This tool clips every range to the injury-to-report window and counts overlapping days once. The percentage is a prompt to request, not a clinical score.

## Ask for the missing period in writing

A vague request for 'any remaining records' comes back as another incomplete PDF. Name the source. Name the dates you hold. Name the dates you need. The letter starter does that. Send it to the clinic, or send it to the referrer if they still hold the productions. Strip identifiers before you paste source names into this browser. Use 'family physician' or 'physio clinic', not a person's name.
